TIPS TO SPEED UP YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY DISABILITY HEARING

It is a well known fact that anything involved when applying for Social Security Disability moves very slowly. As an example, in cases where one was denied benefits and starts the appeal process known as an appeal hearing with an administrative law judge(ALJ) the wait can be quite slow.

Steps to take to speed up the process include:

Have your attorney submit a “dire need” letter to the office of Disability Adjucation and Review(ODAR).

Consideration will be given in the following circumstances.

1. State you are in danger for an eviction or foreclosure.

2.Your are unable to purchase your medications or receive other medical treatment.

3. Your utilities such as gas, water and electricity may be turned off.

Of course, these statements must be backed up by documentation from your bank, utility company or your doctors.

Another consideration is to ask your congressman to intervene with Social Security. They can then request the hearing be moved up.
