SOCIAL SECURITY WARNS ABOUT SCAMS

Social Security recently release a warning about E-mail scams which attempt to obtain your personal information. They ask you to verify your personal information with Social Security and even uses a replica of the Social Security Administration seal.

They state that simply wish to verify your Social Security number so that it matches what they have on file. Warning! Do not click the link on the Verifcation form. You are urged to take precautions when giving out sensitive information such as your Social Security number, bank account number or other personal information over the phone or internet unless you are very confident of the source to which you are giving the information.

If you have questions regarding this matter, contact your local Social Security office or call 1-800-772-1213.
